I was thinking how this whole photographic theme of the Spanish urban peripheries has become so clichéd in the sense that the works produced these days are quite similar formally and conceptually to those created back in the mid nineties. There is definitely something missing in these modern explorations of the margins of the Spanish city but in my opinion
Ignacio Navas' ongoing La Linde is an attempt to fill in some of those gaps. His black and white series conveys a rare sense of anxiety and emptiness while exploring the edges and outer limits of these urban territories of Spain.
